The awards, now in their ninth year, recognize outstanding contributions to the logistics and supply chain industry, with winners selected from various sectors including road, rail, sea, and air.

Celebrating Excellence in Logistics

Kevin Green, the acting chief executive of Logistics UK, presided over the event, which highlighted the achievements of individuals and organizations that have made significant impacts in the field. The competition ran from May to September 2025 and involved a rigorous selection process including a test of legislation and compliance knowledge, case study submissions, and interviews with a panel of judges.

Among the individual winners, Lee Thompson-Halls was named the Transport Manager of the Year, while John Trenchard, Vice President of Commercial and Supply Chain at DP World, received the accolade of Logistics Leader of the Year. Malcolm Wilson was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award, marking his long-standing contributions to the industry.

Recognizing Rising Stars and Innovation

The Rising Star of the Year award was jointly awarded to Beth Baxter, Fleet Coordinator at Swain Container Solutions, and Elliott Lancaster, Innovation Manager at Omnes Global. Both Baxter and Lancaster were commended for their hard work and innovative approaches within their respective roles. Other highly commended individuals in the category included Brooklyn Hoban-Langley, Callum Gutteridge, Diana Yatskiv, Hollie Strange, Rory Sneddon, Sophie Mitchell, and Stephen Twiselton.

In the realm of innovation, Life Couriers UK was recognized with the Most Innovative Product award, while Pallet-Track Ltd received the Safety Initiative of the Year award. The Decarbonisation Initiative of the Year was awarded to Evri, highlighting the company's efforts in sustainable logistics practices.

Woodland Logistics, celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2025, won the Road Transport Operator of the Year award. The company has seen significant growth over the years, expanding its fleet from just two vehicles to 154 HGVs and establishing a network of 17 strategic locations across the UK. With an impressive driver retention rate of 84.7%, Woodland Logistics continues to set benchmarks in the industry.

Currie Solutions Group was named the International Logistics Business of the Year, acknowledging its excellence in global logistics operations. Meanwhile, M6toll was recognized as the Operator of the Year for its operational efficiency and service delivery.

Industry Trends and Insights

The awards also shed light on broader industry trends and insights. According to recent findings, Generation Logistics has boosted career awareness by 37%, and more than a fifth of industry participants support the AFP apprenticeship initiative. Furthermore, a survey revealed that eight out of ten drivers are in favor of implementing tougher drink driving measures, indicating a strong focus on safety and compliance within the logistics sector.

The Port of Dover was also recognized at the event, emphasizing its pivotal role in the UK's logistics framework. James Stephens received a high commendation in the logistics category, further underscoring the diverse and impactful contributions being made across the industry.
